Alumni success stories

"The biggest skill that I learned in Glion is first of all networking and adaptation to all the different cultures and mindsets. The thing that Glion taught us is how to be professional in the way we present ourselves, the way we dress, the way we talk, emotional intelligence and how to present yourself in the business world.
For all the students considering Glion, if you are looking for personalized attention from professors as well as a multicultural environment and the most stunning campus view, there’s no doubt it has to be Glion." •
SHOKHIDA RUSTAMOVA
Assistant Manager Human Resources, Jumeirah, Dubai, UAE Graduated in 2022
“We take our clients to some of the best wineries for VIP tours and tastings. And we have access to places that other operators don’t, because we know people. For example, another special experience we can arrange is a private visit to Yves Saint Laurent’s house in Marrakech.
Flexibility is key because you have to deal with a lot of different suppliers when you put a bespoke trip together. Guides, hotels, experience providers – and then on the other side you have clients from all over the world, who each have their own interests and demands. So being flexible, proactive, and just adapting to different mentalities and personalities is really important” •
ADAM RZANE
Managing Partner, Limo Express & Director of Business Development, Access Morocco, Casablanca, Morocco Graduated in 2021

"My first job after graduating was a management training with Marriott; then I realized I wanted to go back to what I studied at Glion which was real estate finance.
Since then, I have had great opportunities to work with a consulting firm, hotel developers, and operator experience. So really closing that real estate circle for hotel development.
Soft skills are one of the most key factors in supporting career progression, leadership and business. I think Glion really values that and there is a strong emphasis on soft skills – work hard but also enjoy the process and have fun." •
JAVAD HAJIYEV

“Glion for me was more than just a school, it was also like a school of life because I learned many things about myself and also from others. You work in an international environment, so of course you learn from people from different backgrounds and cultures.” •
JULIE CHARBONNIER
Client Engagement and Services Coordinator – MEIA, Cartier, Dubai UAE Graduated in 2020

Attention to detail is common to both hospitality and finance. In the financial industry, you have to be precise, otherwise you could make mistakes that are really costly. And while there is less jeopardy in hospitality, attention to detail is clearly extremely important as it differentiates between the extremely good and the merely average.
So-called soft skills such as empathy and being proactive are also essential in hospitality and finance. The ability to understand the anxieties or needs of clients, anticipate them and deliver services accordingly is highly valued in both worlds.” •
