Alumni success stories

"I visited a few hospitality schools, but Glion really drew my attention because it had a beautiful combination of this homey feeling that you want to have when you live and study there, but it also had that level and standard that you want to provide within the industry.
The advice I would give is to bear in mind that Glion is here to teach you, obviously, about the industry and what it can provide for you, but you have to keep that spark within you all the way through because that’s what’s going to drive you later on in your career and that’s what you’re going to remember in the long term." •

PAULINE SAINSON

“Ever since I joined Salesforce in 2019, I was brought in to build and implement the account-based marketing program, which means that I did one-to-one marketing for up to 26 accounts. Glion was very helpful in that sense, because I had worked a lot with luxury brands and understood what it meant to have one-to-one experiences.” •

MICHELLE CRISTINA BÜHLER

Field Marketing Lead, Retail & Consumer Goods, Salesforce Co-Founder, ELEVATE Gym Graduated in 2019

How Michelle balances professional and entrepreneurial life →
"My first job after graduating was a management training with Marriott; then I realized I wanted to go back to what I studied at Glion which was real estate finance.
Since then, I have had great opportunities to work with a consulting firm, hotel developers, and operator experience. So really closing that real estate circle for hotel development.
Soft skills are one of the most key factors in supporting career progression, leadership and business. I think Glion really values that and there is a strong emphasis on soft skills – work hard but also enjoy the process and have fun." •

You work in an international environment, so of course you learn from people from different backgrounds and cultures.” •

JULIE CHARBONNIER

Client Engagement and Services Coordinator – MEIA, Cartier, Dubai UAE Graduated in 2020

Attention to detail is common to both hospitality and finance. In the financial industry, you have to be precise, otherwise you could make mistakes that are really costly. And while there is less jeopardy in hospitality, attention to detail is clearly extremely important as it differentiates between the extremely good and the merely average.
So-called soft skills such as empathy and being proactive are also essential in hospitality and finance. The ability to understand the anxieties or needs of clients, anticipate them and deliver services accordingly is highly valued in both worlds.” •
