Essential items to pack

Clothing

We recommend that you come prepared for all weathers, as conditions in the Alps during Fall can vary quite widely.

We advise that you bring the following:

  • Casual clothes to be worn outside of class
  • Plenty of layers, rather than thick clothing, as this will be more versatile if the weather fluctuates.
  • A waterproof coat is essential.
  • Business attire for attending classes; suits (blazers with matching trousers/ skirts), preferably dark colors shirts or blouses.
  • Dark color socks and skin or black color stockings.

Electricals

The essential items are:

  • Adapter plugs for Swiss plug sockets (outlets).
  • A mobile phone.
  • A personal laptop.
  • Chargers for electrical devices.

What should I wear?

Dress code on campus

Participants must dress and present themselves in a professional manner in accordance with Glion guidelines. Professional image should be respected when attending classes.

There are two types of attire:

  • Business Professional
  • Casual
View our Professional Image Guide →

The Professional Image guide has the full guidelines, but here is a brief overview of what you should wear on campus:

Business Professional

  • Classic color suit with jacket and full-length trousers / knee-length skirt (black, navy, brown, grey)
  • Shirt (for men) or blouse (for women)
  • Elegant single dark color shoes (black, navy, brown, grey)
  • Dark color socks or skin/black color stockings

Casual

Outside of classroom hours, participants can wear casual clothing - this must not be distracting or offensive to others.

“The facilities, the location and especially the people were gorgeous. We dined at the Michelin star restaurant on campus – a delightful experience – and I especially appreciated the time and space we were given to meet my classmates and faculty members in person.”
